Who can see the album
A new album is yours alone. You open it, read it, and then decide who else gets to — which is one button rather than a settings page.
- Who can see my album by default?
- Only you. A night starts private, so nothing is shared by accident: the album is built and delivered to you, and until you say otherwise the address opens for nobody else.
- Where do I change who can open it?
- There is a Share button beside the date at the top of the album. It holds the link and the choice together, because they are the same decision — the moment you reach for the address is the moment it matters who it opens for. The same choice is on the event's own page, under “The album afterwards”.
- What does “Anyone with the link” actually mean?
- Exactly what it says: whoever holds that address can open the album. No account, nothing to install. It also means the link can be forwarded — the person you send it to can send it on, and you will not know. That is the trade, and it is the right one for most nights, because nobody is going to make an account to see a photograph of themselves.
- Can I close it again after I have shared it?
- Yes, at any time, from the same button. Switch back to “Only you” and the link stops opening for everybody else immediately — the photographs, the download and the album itself all follow the same rule, so there is no back way in.
- Will my wedding photos show up on Google?
- No. Every album tells search engines not to index it, not to keep a copy, and not to index its images — as a tag on the page and as a header on the response. The address itself is unguessable: your event's name plus six random characters, which is about a billion possibilities.
- Can guests see the album?
- When it is set to “Anyone with the link”, yes — send them the address. While it is private, no: private means you, and it would be a strange kind of private that let forty other people in.
