How your guests join
One code, a first name, and they are in. The whole thing runs in the browser that was already open on their phone.
- Do guests need to download an app?
- No, and this is the part that decides whether an evening works. Anything that needs installing gets done by the four people who were going to take photographs anyway. Your guests scan the code and the whole thing runs in their phone's browser.
- Do they need to make an account?
- No. They type a first name so the album can say who caught what, and that is the entire sign-up. No email, no password, nothing to remember and nothing to lose.
- How do they get the code?
- You print it. Every event has a QR code and a set of cards to put on tables — or on a screen, or at the door. Anybody who scans it while the night is running is in.
- What about somebody who arrives late?
- They scan it and join, the same as everyone else. They are asked for what is happening now rather than what they missed, because a prompt about the ceremony is no use to somebody who walked in during dinner.
- What if a guest closes the page or loses their phone?
- Scanning the code again puts them back where they were, on the same phone. On a different phone they are a new guest — so what they sent earlier stays in the album under the name they used, and they can add more under the new one.
- Can I stop more people joining?
- Yes. Locking the doors on the event's page stops new guests joining without affecting anybody already inside — useful when the room is full, or when a photograph of the card has travelled further than you meant it to.
